Revêtement contenant, outre de l'oxyde de fer et/ou de l'oxyde de manganèse, un pourcentage assez élevé de ferromanganèse et/ou d'autres désoxydants. Le caractère métallurgique de cet enrobage est acide.

OBS

Avec ce type d'enrobage [acide], le transfert de métal se fait par minuscules gouttelettes, de diamètres souvent inférieurs à 0,1 mm, chacune entourée d'une fine pellicule de laitier. L'arc est très stable et la soudure bien lisse.
