A thirteen digit number assigned to each unique item in the Canadian Government Catalogue System. The number is composed of a four digit supply classification code, a two digit country of origin code (Canada's number is 21) and a seven digit national item identification number. The CSN is the same as the NATO stock number e.g. 7510-21-867-1234.
