Since 1972, the Canadian Soil Information System (CanSIS) has supported the research activities of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada by building the National Soil DataBase, and acting as a source of GIS [Geographic Information System] products and expertise ... CanSIS provides access to state of the art GIS facilities, as well as database management and custom mapping services for the Canadian Land Resource Network. CanSIS is part of Eastern Cereal and Oilseed Research Centre (ECORC), and is located on the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa.
