Quebecer, Quebecker, Québécois

A resident of Quebec is known as a Quebecer or a Quebecker. These demonyms should be written without any accents; they are always capitalized in English.

  • Quebecers of all ethnic backgrounds agree that they live in a land of exceptional natural beauty.

A French-speaking Quebecer is often referred to as a Québécois (masculine) or Québécoise (feminine), written with two accented é’s, although some editorial styles recommend omitting the accents.

  • A native of New Brunswick, Roch Voisine is often thought to be a Québécois.
  • Québécoise Marie-Claire Blais is one of the stars of French-Canadian literature.
