The reverse thrust system provides means of decelerating aircraft during the landing roll, thus reducing landing roll length. The thrust reverser units are attached at the turbine outlet case of each engine.... The reversers are controlled by reverse thrust levers and operated by 13th stage engine bleed air. The second type of precision airdrop is the Precision Guided Air Drop System(PGADS). Several different systems are in development. The idea behind PGADS is to use a ram-air canopy controlled by an electro-mechanical servo system. This flies a load into a specific location from a safe stand-off range vice just utilizing the safety of high altitude. Systems under development range in current weight capacity from 500 to 2000 pounds. The systems use various modes of operation. They can be controlled remotely from the ground or in the air, programmed to home in on a beacon or programmed to fly to a pre-determined gird reference via GPS navigation.

The Pressurized Module(PM) is a facility where astronauts conduct experiments or control the total JEM [Japanese Experiment Module] facility. Inside the PM, the air composition and pressure are kept the same as on Earth, and temperature and humidity are controlled so as to be comfortable for astronauts’ activity all the time. The United States has made tremendous advances in the past 25 years to clean up the aquatic environment by controlling pollution from industries and sewage treatment plants. Unfortunately, we did not do enough to control pollution from diffuse, or nonpoint, sources.

Several [internal cooling] systems have been developed that incorporate three basic approaches : liquified gas, super-cold air with water vapor, and air exchange methods. With the liquified gas system, immediately after the parison has been expanded, liquid carbon dioxide or nitrogen is atomized through a nozzle in the blow pin into the interior of the bottle. The liquid quickly vaporizes, removing heat, and exhausts at the end of the cycle. In practice, this method has improved production rates by 25 to 35%. A disadvantage is the cost of the liquified gas. If its consumption is not precisely controlled, the total cost savings becomes minimal.

Commercialisé par la Société Air Liquide, ce procédé utilise un échangeur fonctionnant avec de l'azote liquide pour refroidir à une température de -50 °C à -100 °C l'air ensuite utilisé pour le balayage du corps creux.

Dans les cas très difficiles, l'air est remplacé par de l'azote liquide. La transition liquide-gaz de l'azote se produit dans la canne de soufflage et l'objet est alors soufflé par ce gaz très froid.

The thermopile heat of combustion detector is at the heart of each heating value transmitter. Air is used as a heat transfer media and flows around the combustion chamber.
