The MARES is aisle mounted, capable of assessing the strength of isolated muscle groups around joints, or complete limbs by controlling and measuring interrelationship between position/velocity and torque/force as a function of time. It has interfaces to the US Lab or Columbus Laboratory. Sensors, direct drive motor, battery and electronics are housed in the "Main Box". Chair and human adapters provide the subject restraints. The Microgravity Isolation Frame, to which the Main Box attaches, minimises disturbances to other payloads. MARES uses the Human Research Facility portable computer(HRF PC) for interacting with the subject/operator. MARES is capable of acquiring data, controlling and providing power to external devices(HRF PC, PEMS, EMG amplifiers, etc.), and transfers real time data to the rack mounted Workstation for downlink. Cable-Reel Shuttle Cars... were introduced in 1939, the year following the first(battery) shuttle car. Practically all present shuttle cars are powered through cable reels. Reels usually hold 500 ft of cable and, therefore, the maximum haul distance should be kept under 400 ft whenever possible. Cable-reel cars are either standard-hand or opposite-standard-hand models. Standard-hand control means that the seats for the operator, together with the controls, are located on the left front or discharge end of the car similar to the operator's position in an American car or truck. An opposite-hand-control car would have the operator sitting on the right-hand side of the car facing forward when traveling to the discharge point. Specific thermographic equipment designed for portable viewing applications. It consists of a lightweight hand-held infrared camera and a portable display unit carried by an operator in a body harness. This enables standing or walking operation or monitoring. The camera, which allows for instant imagery within a given temperature range, has several temperature-viewing ranges and may be equipped with one of three lenses. Equipement thermographique portatif spécial pour applications visuelles. Il consiste en une caméra à infrarouge légère et portative et en un écran portatif porté par un technicien au moyen d'un harnais. Le technicien peut ainsi rester debout ou marcher pendant le fonctionnement. La caméra, qui fournit des images instantanées à une certaine gamme de températures, possède plusieurs gammes de températures pour la projection et peut être munie d'une des trois lentilles.
