The ME(metabolizable energy) of a feed ingredient(individual feed) may be used to indicate the nutritional value of that ingredient. Feed ingredients or feeds are rated as high or low energy. ME depends on the quality of the feed and on the % dry matter. If chickens are fed a low energy feed they will eat more feed, if it is available, to get the required energy. In monogastric animals, like chickens, energy comes mainly from carbohydrates and fats since fibre containing cellulose cannot be digested.

Wreaths may or may not be part of a commemorative service, though they are very common for ceremonies on November 11. During the wreath laying, appropriate music may be played, such as "Abide with Me" or "O Valiant Hearts. "The wreath is usually carried by someone walking alongside the person who is to lay the wreath. The two approach, briefly pause, exchange the wreath, place it(often on a stand), step back, pause for a moment(military personnel will salute), turn to the right and walk off. Protocol dictates the order in which the wreaths will be laid.

"Just for me" learning. A new model using "learning objects" is gaining momentum. Learning objects are self-contained learning components(a course module, video or audio clips, for example) that are stored and accessed independently. Learning objects can be re-assembled to create new courses or sequenced to form individual learning paths. This has clear benefits. It enables mass-customisation of learning with more personalised and "just for me" content. And for authors there is the opportunity to search for existing learning objects from within the organisation or from external providers and reuse them, saving time and money.

... the rulemakers seem to be giving more points for risk than for difficulty. Does anyone remember ROV? Risk, Originality, and virtuosity. For insurance purposes, we are not allowed to give extra points for "risk" anymore. It evolved into "courage" and then into bonus points. It seems to me that too many girls(and their coaches) have assumed that they can get very high scores for not much work.

The old bonus rules (ROV) did not really apply to the world class gymnasts; they were all capable of getting bonus [points]. Now only the best will get "max bonus". Certain events are more difficult than others to get bonus [points] but now the better gymnast should score higher. Men’s vaulting does require distance for bonus -- minimum required distance for no deduction, 2.5 meters; bonus awarded for distance beyond 3.5 meters.

Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. An odd aspect of Quantum Mechanics is contained in the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle(HUP). The HUP can be stated in different ways, let me first talk in terms of momentum and position. If there is a particle, such as an electron, moving through space, I can characterize its motion by telling you where it is(its position) and what its velocity is(more precisely, its momentum). Now, let me say something strange about what happens when I try to measure its positions and momentum. In the Quantum Mechanical world, the idea that we can measure things exactly breaks down. Let me state this notion more precisely. Suppose a particle has momentum p and a position x. In a Quantum Mechanical world, I would not be able to measure p and x precisely. There is an uncertainty associated with each measurement, e. g. there is some dp and dx, which I can never get rid of even in a perfect experiment!!!. This is due to the fact that whenever I make a measurement, I must disturb the system.(In order for me to know something is there, I must bump into it.) The size of the uncertainties are not independent, they are related...
