Optic nerve sheath fenestration is an operation which is performed to reduce the swelling in the optic nerves in order to protect the eyesight. It involves a surgeon making a small window in the tough coating surrounding the optic nerve, called optic nerve sheath. This allows the fluid around the nerve to be released. The excess fluid escapes and harmlessly absorbs into surrounding tissues. This reduces the swelling in the optic nerve on the side that the procedure is performed.

Since the target is a free-floating spacecraft that is not a fixed object on the ground, the target will have reactive translational motion and rotation when external forces and torques are applied to the target spacecraft during the screwdriving process. However, the translation and rotation of the target spacecraft can influence the control accuracy of the space robot, which may lead to failures during the screw-driving process. Unlike single-arm space robots, dual-arm space robots can use the cooperation of the two arms to accomplish more complicated space tasks effectively. Therefore, dual-arm space robots can be introduced to carry out the in-orbit screw-driving operation by the mission arm and maintain the position and attitude of the target spacecraft by the other arm.

Le conservateur de cap, ou gyroscope directionnel, est l'un des trois instruments à gyroscope. Aligné avec le compas, il donne une indication précise et stable concernant le cap magnétique de l'appareil. Le conservateur de cap constitue une aide importante car le compas est sujet à des erreurs causées par l'accélération, la décélération et la courbure du champ magnétique terrestre, particulièrement sous les hautes latitudes. Il arrive fréquemment que le compas oscille; il est particulièrement difficile à lire dans les turbulences ou pendant les manœuvres. Fonctionnement. Le gyroscope du conservateur de cap pivote dans un plan vertical. Une carte comportant des caps maintient son orientation lorsque l'avion tourne. Le mouvement apparent de la carte donne au pilote une indication précise et instantanée du cap de l'avion et de la direction dans laquelle il tourne. La carte est marquée de 5 degrés en 5 degrés, avec une indication chiffrée tous les 30 degrés et les points cardinaux repérés par N, S, E, O.
