It is often played as a casual game with a stick and a ball, but it has a proper set of rules. It is played 9-a-side, and each side has two innings. The batsmen use a wooden bat called a stick and try to score rounders. The bowler bowls with a smooth underarm action from a distance of 24 1/2 feet(7. 5 m). The four bases are posts 3 ft. 11 in.(1. 2 m) high. The batsman tries to hit the ball and then run around the outside of the posts to the fourth post in order to score a rounder. To score, you have to reach the fourth post on your own hit. If you stop at a post, you may run home when a teammate hits the ball, but you do not score. You join the end of the batting line. You can be out if the ball is caught, or if a fielder touches you or the post with the ball. When all the batsmen are out, the innings is over.

Fuel starvation and fuel exhaustion(sometimes referred to as fuel depletion) are problems that can affect internal combustion engines fuelled by either diesel, kerosene, petroleum or any other combustible liquid or gas. If no fuel is available for an engine to burn, it cannot function. All modes of transport powered by such engines can be affected by this problem, but the consequences are most significant when it occurs to aircraft in flight. There are two main ways that an engine can run out of fuel :-Using up fuel. This is the most common cause of fuel exhaustion. An engine can use up all available fuel due to insufficient fuel being loaded for the planned journey or the journey time extended for too long(in the case of an aircraft, due to in-flight delays or problems)... ;-Leaking. In some cases, the fuel tank or the supply piping to the engine leaks and fuel is lost. This can cause engines to starve.

Pasta machines. There are two basic types of machines that can be used to make homemade pasta-the roller type and the extruder type. Roller-type pasta machines come in hand-cranked and electric versions. Both come with several attachments-usually one pair of smooth rollers for rolling out the sheets of dough, and two notched pairs(one narrow and one wide) used to cut noodles. With this type of machine, the dough is run between the smooth rollers at increasingly thinner settings until it reaches the desired thickness. Raytheon's IMS [Integrated Maritime Surveillance] uses land-based long-range surface wave radar, which transmits high frequency(HF) radio waves that follow the earth's curvature. The SWR-503 Surface Wave Radar detects and tracks aircraft, surface vessels and icebergs out to 500 km from the shore in a sector of up to 120 degrees. The radar also provides current and surface wind data. At an Operations Control Centre, the IMS system correlates detections from surface wave radar sites with identification information from ADS systems and other sensors. All of this data is fused to create a database and display system providing a complete picture of surface and air activity in the EEZ. Vessel tracks can be run backward and forward in time, enhancing military patrols and coast guard search-and-rescue efforts as well as oil spill control, drug interdiction, and iceberg alerts. Applications for HF Surface Wave Radar are being developed in fields such as Theatre Ballistic Missile and Meteor Shower Detection.

The game gets its name from the fact that the ball must be thrown 6 feet in the air by the pitcher; any ball so pitched without an attempt to strike it puts the batter out automatically. If pitched less than 6 feet high, it is declared "ball" by the referee; it takes 4 balls for a base on balls. Stolen bases on passed balls or otherwise are not permitted; the ball must be struck before a player on a base is allowed to run. The home plate is 18 inches by 4 feet.

Le marbre est de 18 pouces sur 4 pieds.
