The cylindrical walls were imperforated. Archaeocyathans were apparently benthic, sessile, suspension feeders. Environmental Effects Monitoring(EEM) is a scientific tool that assesses the effects of effluent from industrial or other sources on fish, fish habitat and the human use of fisheries resources. Information form EEM, taken together with social, economic and technical considerations, may be used to assess the adequacy of the regulations in protecting aquatic environments and to ensure proper management, conservation and protection of aquatic environments. EEM is not just an end-of-pipe measurement of the concentrations of various contaminants in effluent.
