Le principe de l'inversion. Rappelons d'abord brièvement comment l'on transforme l'image latente négative enregistrée sur un film en une image argentique positive. On parle à ce propos de "développement par inversion". L'expression est assez incorrecte puisque l'inversion n'est en fait qu'un ensemble de deux opérations précédées par un développement classique, et suivies par un second développement.
