Adopted by the General Assembly on 11 December 2008, the Convention establishes a uniform and modern legal regime governing the rights and obligations of shippers, carriers and consignees under a contract for door-to-door carriage that includes an international sea leg.

The Convention builds upon, and provides a modern alternative to, earlier conventions relating to the international carriage of goods by sea, in particular, the International Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules of Law relating to Bills of Lading (Brussels, 25 August 1924) ("the Hague Rules"), and its Protocols ("the Hague-Visby Rules"), and the United Nations Convention on the Carriage of Goods by Sea (Hamburg, 31 March 1978) ("the Hamburg Rules").

Power Cutting, Inc., under contract to GPU Nuclear, has engineered, fabricated, and tested an automated cutting equipment system(ACES) to conduct the cutting of the LCSA [lower core support assembly]. The cutting system will include plasma arc cutting, rotary grinding, and abrasive water jetting. It will be a system consisting of a support frame, movable carriage, and trolley for horizontal x, y direction control, and a movable vertical z axis robotic telescoping arm supported on the trolley/carriage arrangement. The support frame, carriage, trolley, and robotic arm will be set on and above the LCSA, submerged in [approximately] 35 ft of reactor coolant. It will be remotely operated and controlled.

The Industrial Truck Association(ITA) has developed classifications for fork carriages based on the capacity of the fork truck. These categories are identified as Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 carriage assemblies. A load backrest is usually provided on the fork carriage to prevent loads from falling back when the mast is tilted backward.

The major components of the stairway are the carriage, stair, handrails, and shroud. The carriage consists of an actuator, side plates, shafts, gears, chains, sprockets, cams, and cam followers.... Tracks in the forward and aft sides of the shroud support the carriage and provide a means of installing the stairway in the airplane. Springs, mounted in the closed end of the shroud, provide tension on the carriage to prevent movement of the stair when the stair is retracted. A detent stop assembly, with a mechanical lock, is provided for securing the carriage and stair in the extended position when electrical power is to be removed from the stairway circuits.

The equilibrator is attached to the bottom of the carriage and extends down inside the revolving magazine assembly. It consists of an equilibrator cylinder assembly and two sets of coil springs. A steel cable extends from a spring seat at the bottom of the equilibrator to the elevation arc. In operation, the coil spring tension pulls on the steel cable to counterbalance the gun as it elevates and depresses.

Reciprocating screw systems. In a reciprocating(in-line) screw, the material is fed from the hopper, plasticized in the screw, and forced past a one-way valve at the injection end of the screw. The material accumulates in front of the screw, forcing back the screw, its drive and motor, and the pistons of the two hydraulic injection cylinders.... When the screw reaches a certain position, it contacts a limit switch that stops the rotation. When the cycle is ready to inject, two hydraulic injection cylinders, one on each side of the carriage, move the screw assembly forward and use the screw as an injection ram.
