The Sokolsky breed usually stands between 15 and 16 hands high, and is chestnut or bay. They have a slightly heavy head with a straight profile, set on a long, broad, and muscular neck. Their shoulders are well-formed and sloping, resulting in their good gaits. They tend to have deep chests, pronounced withers, a short, straight back, and a muscular, sloping croup. Finnish horse is the only native breed of horse in Finland. It is a descendant of the northern European domestic horse with both warmblood and heavier draft influences. This breed is also known as Finnish Universal because it is able to fulfill all the needs for horses in Finland. It is the fastest cold-blooded trotter in the world, it is capable of pulling heavier loads than many larger draft horse breeds, and it is a versatile riding horse. In 1924 it was ordered that breeding of the Finnhorse be divided into two branches. Finlandais Universel, Cheval Finlandais : trotteur et trait léger; il descend du croisement du poney indigène [...] avec diverses races, qu'elles soient de selle ou de trait. Elevé en race pure depuis 1907, date de l'ouverture du studbook. Appelé «universel» car polyvalent : il y avait autrefois un modèle lourd (de trait) et un type léger, polyvalent, qui est le modèle actuel. C'est un cheval docile, vif, endurant, très rapide, et doué de longévité. Taille 154 cm en moyenne. Robe le plus souvent alezane; mais parfois bai, noire, bai foncé, et même gris. The breed was formed in the mountain and steppe zone adjacent to the Volga and the Urals. The Bashkir was used as a draft and utility horse and as a producer of milk and meat. The Bashkir is a small, wide-bodied and bony horse. It has a massive head and a short and fleshy neck. The withers are low, the back erect and broad, the croup nicely rounded, the ribs long and well sprung, the chest broad and deep and the legs short and bony. Bashkir : poney russe élevé par les Bashkirs, anciens nomades qui se sont fixés dans le sud de l'Oural. Le Bachkortostan est une république membre de la Fédération de Russie, capitale Oufa. Origines très anciennes, qui remonterait au Cheval Sauvage de Mongolie comme les autres poneys russes ; il aurait eu l'influence de chevaux de selles (Don et Budienny), de trotteurs Orlov et de chevaux lourds (Ardennais). Petit cheval (135-150), un peu plus grand que l'altai, mais très robuste, docile, polyvalent et réputé pour son endurance. On distinguerait 2 types : le Bashkir des steppes, petit et léger utilisé sous la selle, et le Bashkir des montagnes, plus lourd, pour le trait.
