Small stria having the form of a star with three arms from which palmar creases diverge in three directions. It is usually unique and situated in the proximal region of the palm at the convergence of the crease systems of thenar, hypothenar and carpus. Its normal position is designated by t. It can be very distal, at the limit of the flexion creases i. e., in t" or in an intermediate position i. e., in t’.

CONT

(Duplication 10q and 10p Syndrome) Frequent dermatoglyphic findings include transverse palmar creases, high axial triradius, and an increased number of ulnar loops.

Any of the normal grooves across the palm which accommodate flexion of the hand by separating folds of tissue. In certain congenital anomalies, there is only a single transverse (simian) crease.

A design having the form of a loop or a whorl and usually situated between the subdigital triradii. Patterns are called P7, P9 and P11 according to their positions.

(XY-XO variety) The following discordances were noted : double loop on the right thumb in the XY subject and single ulnar loop in the XO, a pattern in space 7 on both hands in the XO, a pattern in space 9 of both hands in the XY subject and hypothenar radial loop on the left hand of the XO girl.
