Some of these actions seem be obvious but it should be noticed that few information are available from literature for precise quantitative results. Most of existing results are based on measurements and can be considered only as specific data in a certain context. What happens if vegetation is introduced in a mineral space or if a building is constructed instead of a park? Extrapolations of measurements are often not possible, so only numerical simulations can afford advice to urban planners on the way they may improve urban environment.

Prenons l'exemple d'une zone périurbaine où se côtoient des espaces bâtis, des champs labourés, des espaces à dominante végétale. Un champs labouré (minéral), une forêt (végétal), auront une texture relativement homogène, c'est-à-dire des valeurs de réponses de pixels proches. Un espace pavillonnaire quant à lui, sera constitué par une combinaison de valeurs de pixels distinctes les unes des autres.

The closed loop system is similar to the open loop system with the exception that a feedback unit is introduced in the electrical circuit. This feedback unit, generally called a transducer, compares the amount the machine table has been moved by the servo motor with the signal sent by the control unit. The control unit instructs the servo motor to make whatever adjustments are necessary until both the signal from the control unit and the one from the servo unit are equal.... Closed loop numerical control systems are very accurate because the accuracy of the command signal is recorded and there is an automatic compensation for error.
