Macular translocation is a term used to describe any surgical procedure that involves the deliberate detachment of the retina with subsequent repositioning of the macula to a new location relative to the underlying retinal pigment epithelium. By moving the fovea away from abnormal pigment epithelium and/or choroid and repositioning it over more normal tissue, macular function can be stabilized or improved.

There are several different macular translocation techniques currently in use... The various forms of macular translocation may be broadly classified into three categories depending on the size of the retinotomy/retinotomies used :(i) macular translocation with 360° peripheral circumferential retinotomy...,(ii) macular translocation with large(but less than 360°) circumferential retinotomy..., and(iii) macular translocation with either small(self-sealing) or no retinotomy/retinotomies, with or without chorioschleral infolding or outfolding... The rationale of macular translocation is that moving the neurosensory retina of the fovea in an eye with recent-onset subfoveal CNV [choroidal neovascularization] to a new location before permanent retinal damage occurs may allow it to recover or maintain its visual function over a healthier bed of retinal pigment epithelium(RPE) —Bruch's membrane-choriocapillaris complex.

Translocation maculaire rétinienne. The most important city of the province of Quebec, but not its capital. It occupies all the Île de Montréal(or Montréal Island), the biggest island of the Hochelaga Archipelago, at the confluence of the St. Lawrence River and the Ottawa River. In 1535, Jacques Cartier visited the native village of Hochelaga on the slope of what he named "Mont Royal, "but by 1608, year of the foundation of Québec, all the Iroquoians were gone. At the same location, Ville-Marie was founded as a missionary colony by Paul de Chomedey de Maisonneuve in 1642, though it was not until the conclusion of the "Grande Paix"(peace treaty) of 1701 that the colony stopped living in a permanent state of war. The establishment became the great centre of the fur trade and a starting point for expeditions by the coureurs de bois and voyageurs of the time. Trade from the port and agriculture on the surrounding plains contributed to the development of the city. By the 1820s, its population outnumbered that of the city of Québec. A dynamic merchant class began to invest and "St. James Street, "now "la rue Saint-Jacques, "became the country's financial centre. Around 1831, large-scale immigration enabled the population of British origin to be the majority in the city but, at the time of Confederation in 1867 and after, the francophones were again in the majority, gradually making the city the centre of the French culture in America. Erected as a municipality in 1832, the city underwent a steady growth with the addition of the territories of 35 towns over the years. If Toronto grabbed the title of "Business Capital" by the end of the 20th Century, Montréal remained the "Metropolis of Canada. "In 1996, the metropolitan region grouped some 111 municipalities located on three of the islands of the Hochelaga Archipelago, Montréal Island, Jésus Island and Bizard Island, and, on the South Shore, the city of Longueuil and the seven others that were to be part of it on the 1 January 2002...

The line of lowest elevation or the lower limit of a snowfield at any locality on the earth’s surface above which snow accumulates and remains on the ground throughout the entire year.

Snowline ... is the lowest limit of permanent snow on a mountain. During the cold season, snow will fall onto a mountain and build up. During warmer seasons, the snow may begin to melt. Where the melting is offset by the accumulation of snow, the snow remains all year round - and forms the snowline. The extent of the snowline can vary from year to year on a particular mountain, and is a good indicator of the balance between snowfall and snowmelt.

Snow line [is the] altitude above which or latitude beyond which snow does not melt in summer(usually called the permanent snow line), or, in winter, the line to which snow extends at a given point in time. Factors affecting the location of the snow line are the quantity of snowfall, the steepness of the slope on which snow rests, the exposure of an area to the sun and prevailing winds, the type and velocity of the winds, and the presence or absence of large bodies of water. The level of the snow line is much lower in winter than in summer. It is also affected by distance from the equator, along which it is found at an altitude of c. 3 mi(5 km) ;in polar regions it is at sea level.

Established on October 31, 1996, the Hall of Fame was originally known as the Molson’s Sports Hall of Fame. The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame was originally established to honour outstanding Saskatchewan athletes, championship teams and sports builders. Athletes eligible for nomination include individuals with substantial connections to Saskatchewan who have represented sport with distinction in competition; both in Saskatchewan and outside the province; or whose example has brought great credit to the sport and high respect for the individual.

In 1979, the Old Land Titles Building was designated a provincial heritage property and, once renovated, provided the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame with a permanent home in downtown core. Many hubs marking the location of highways, airfields, and other works of man are bound to be uprooted or covered during the progress of construction and they must be replaced, often more than once, before construction is completed.
