Gas-fired water heaters have a gas burner located below the tank, a thermostatic switch, a gas valve and a pilot light. The thermostat will open the gas valve when it senses the water temperature at the bottom of the tank has dropped below the present limit. Gas flows to the burner and is ignited by the pilot light, heating the tank from below. In addition, the hot exhaust gases are vented through a hollow core in the center of the tank to help heat the water. The exhaust is then passed into the draft hood and to the vent connector where it is discharged to a chimney flue.

To steer the aircraft on the ground, the pilot in the left seat uses the nose-gear steering wheel on the console to the pilot's left. During take-off and landing, directional control of the aircraft is maintained solely by the rudder. The aircraft's ground steering system comprises several components, including the nose-gear steering wheel, a system of cables and pulleys, and a steering control valve fitted to a nose-wheel steering cylinder, which is attached to the nose-wheel strut. The cable and pulley system links the steering wheel to the control valve. When the pilot turns the steering wheel to the left or right, tension is applied to the cables connected to the pulley on the steering control valve. This action determines the direction and the deflection rate of the nose wheel by allowing hydraulic fluid to enter one side or the other side of the nose-wheel steering cylinder; the steering cylinder then deflects the nose wheel through a system of gears.

Cette action contrôle le taux de braquage et la direction de la roue de nez en permettant au fluide hydraulique de circuler d'un côté ou de l'autre du vérin hydraulique de direction du train avant; ce dernier fait tourner la roue de nez par le biais d'un système d'engrenage.

A fire sprinkler system shall be provided that will automatically shut-off the water supply flow control valve when the fires heat source has been controlled and a soak timer has expired. If the fires heat source was to regenerate, the fire sprinkler system shall automatically reopen. This cycling feature of the sprinkler system shall not be dependent on manual supervision. Cycling fire sprinkler system shall be a closed head type of preaction system with a supplemental detection system which will activate flow control valve.

Cycling sprinkler. A development by the sprinkler industry is a sprinkler that cycles on and off as needed.... Under normal conditions, the pilot valve is held closed by the snap disc. Water in the piston chamber holds the piston closed. When the snap disc is heated to the rated temperature, it opens the pilot valve and releases the water from the piston chamber. This allows the piston to open and water to flow from the sprinkler. When the snap disc cools to approximately 100°F, it closes the pilot valve.

The amount of oil pressure directed to the actuator is controlled by two separate controllers : the density controller and the differential pressure controller. The density controller senses the temperature and pressure of the airflow in the engine intake. The differential pressure controller senses the difference between engine manifold pressure and the air pressure between the compressor and the throttle valve. When fully open, the waste gate valve routes the exhaust flow directly out the tailpipe, away from the turbine wheel. When fully closed, the waste gate valve routes the exhaust flow through the turbine wheel, thereby driving the turbine. During most stages of operation the controllers modulate the position of the valve to drive the turbine at the speed required to meet the engine power selection. The system is designed to work with no input from the pilot.

Il se situe dans la partie commande et amène dans le procédé en cours une régulation. La plus simple est celle qui utilise le tout ou rien assignée à deux valeurs de consignes par exemple pour la régulation de la hauteur dans un réservoir. Elle est simple mais ne permet pas d'obtenir une stabilité suffisante dans bien des cas. On utilise alors un mode de régulation par action proportionnelle. Plus l'écart entre la valeur enregistrée et sa valeur de consigne est important, plus la régulation tend à annuler progressivement cet écart créé par la perturbation constatée. Ce type de régulation est suffisante dans le cas d'une régulation de niveau par exemple.
