Drumheller Institution is a medium-security facility with a minimum-security Annex located on the outskirts of Drumheller, Alberta, a community of about 7, 800. Drumheller Institution opened in 1967 and can accommodate up to 598 inmates. Medium-security inmates are housed mainly in four units. The Annex consists of nine living units with four shared bedrooms. Personal development programs and general and vocational education programs are available. The Institution has also developed and implemented an employability skills acquisition program. L'Établissement Drumheller est un établissement à sécurité moyenne doté d'une annexe à sécurité minimale. Il est situé dans un quartier périphérique de Drumheller, en Alberta, une collectivité qui compte environ 7 800 habitants. Drumheller a ouvert ses portes en 1967 et peut accueillir jusqu'à 598 détenus. Les détenus à sécurité moyenne sont logés principalement dans quatre unités. L'unité à sécurité minimale consiste en neuf unités d'habitation composées de quatre chambres à coucher partagées. Les programmes de développement personnel ainsi que de formation générale et professionnelle sont offerts aux détenus. L'Établissement a aussi élaboré et mis en œuvre un programme d'acquisition de compétences relatives à l'employabilité.
