There are four ongoing abundance indices for the upper St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario system : a long-term count of juvenile eels ascending the eel ladder at the Moses-Saunders Power Dam, a trawl survey index in the Bay of Quinte(Lake Ontario), an index of abundance based on an electrofishing survey in eastern Lake Ontario, and dam tailwater surveys of emigrating adults at Moses-Saunders Power Dam. Robert-Bourassa is a hydroelectric generating station on the La Grande River that is part of Hydro-Québec' s James Bay Project. The Station can generate 5, 616 MW and was commissioned in 1979-1981. Together with the adjacent La Grande-2-A generating station, it uses the reservoir and dam system of the Robert-Bourassa Reservoir to generate electricity.
