Once a ruck has formed you can only play the ball with your feet—playing the ball with your hands in a ruck is a penalty—and the offside rules are very strict. You have to join the ruck from behind—if you join from the side, that's a penalty. Rucking players try to push their opponents backwards and move the ball backwards with their feet, making it available for their teammates. Once it's out the back of the ruck, it can be picked up. The rules of the ruck favour the tackled player's team, but if the tackling team successfully push their opponents back and move the ball to their side with their feet, it's their ball. This is called a counter-ruck.

A test used to diagnose benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) that consists of a series of head, neck, and body movements that reproduce the vertigo sensation.

The Dix-Hallpike test is typically performed in a doctor's office. The doctor will ask you to sit upright on an exam table with your legs stretched out in front of you and your head turned to one side. They will then ask you to lower your head and torso back so that you end up lying with your head stretched off the edge of the exam table, turned with one ear down at a 45-degree angle. If there are misplaced calcium deposits(also called canaliths) in the posterior canal of your inner ear, this will trigger vertigo symptoms.

OBS

Benign positional paroxysmal vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most common causes of vertigo. The Dix-Hallpike maneuver is the gold standard test used to diagnose BPPV, which is crucial in confirming posterior canal BPPV.

In an osmotic power plant, we feed freshwater and seawater into two chambers, separated by a membrane. The salt in the seawater then draws the freshwater through the membrane, causing the pressure on the seawater side to increase. This pressure corresponds to a water column of 120 metres, similar to a large waterfall, and can be utilized in a turbine to generate electricity. Osmotic power plants can be constructed anywhere freshwater flows out into the sea, provided that the salt concentration is sufficiently high.

A ski bowl is an open expanse of an area that appears like a bowl-shaped depression off the side of a mountain. This configuration is made out of a broad, dish-like formation that extends all the way down to the foot of the mountain. Its gentle and sometimes steep sloping shape allows the skier to choose many paths or pistes when gliding down the slope.

The wind is a very important modifier of snow conditions. Areas with deposition of drifted snow should be assessed very carefully: the downwind sides of ridges, hills, and ribs, and local depressions on a steep slope, "caps" of gullies, and notches. Bowls, cirques, and wide depressions have complex wind action patterns that increase the uncertainty when predicting snow stability.

The objective of a clinical trial is to define the safety and effectiveness of a new treatment in humans.

A clinical trial is carried out in four phases. In phase I, the safety and pharmacological profiles of the treatment are studied in a small number of healthy volunteers. During phase II, the experimental effectiveness is studied in a limited number of volunteers. In phase III, data on safety and experimental effectiveness are completed in a large-scale trial. Phase IV takes place after the product's authorization and marketing, in particular to monitor side effects and validate its effectiveness.

The difference between a trial and a study is quite fuzzy, but they can be distinguished as follows: a trial bears on an intervention that will change the course of things and that applies to humans, while a study examines the outcomes of an intervention or of exposure to a given factor, or may have other aims, such as observing the course of a disease. Cribbing is essential in many extrication operations. Its most common use is to stabilize objects. Wood selected for cribbing should be solid, straight and free of major flaws such as large knots or splits. Cribbing surfaces should be free of any paint or finish because this can make the wood slippery, especially when it is wet. Cribbing can be made out of pieces of timber found in the debris and cut to size.... Cribbing involves multiple pieces of wood laid on the side and crossed. It spreads the load well and has many load transfer surfaces. It also has lateral stability depending on the ratio of width to height. The height should not be more than three times the width.

If holding the pouring position is painful it is because the greater tuberosity is being driven up against the acromion, a positive Jobe's test for impingement. At the same time, since this is a position of strength, push down on the arm to test for any weakness.

There is the technical side of snowskating that resembles the street style way of skateboarding with its flips and ollies. At the other end of the spectrum there is the surf-like snowskating style like longboards on snow, where you find your way through deep pow in a flow way of riding. The first snowboard was called the Snurfer which was invented around 1964. It consisted of some sort of small surfboard and a rope in front of the board to hold on too. The XB-25E was a standard production modified for anti-icing research. The carburetor air intake duct was faired internally into the top of the cowling and an anti-icing air intake was mounted at the bottom. All magnetic objects produce invisible lines of force that extend between the poles of the object. An easy way to visualize this is to spread iron filings on a sheet of paper and place a bar magnet under the paper. The iron filings will arrange themselves around the magnet and along the magnetic field lines. In the simplest terms, Earth can be thought of as a dipole(2-pole) magnet. Magnetic field lines radiate between Earth's north and south magnetic poles just as they do between the poles of a bar magnet. Charged particles become trapped on these field lines(just as the iron filings are trapped), forming the magnetosphere. Earth's magnetic field lines are not as symmetrical as those of the bar magnet. The impact of the solar wind causes the lines facing sunward to compress, while the field lines facing away from the Sun stream back to form Earth's magnetotail. The magnetosphere extends into the vacuum of space from approximately 80 to 60, 000 kilometers(50 to 37, 280 miles) on the side toward the Sun, and trails out more than 300, 000 kilometers(186, 500 miles) away from the Sun.

Register forms are merely continuous strip forms which are contained inside a box made especially for use with the forms. The forms are accordion folded into "packs" and these packs are put in the register box with the first form to be written upon threaded up and over a metal plate which serves as a writing base or platform.(...) Les jeux d'imprimés en blanc sont disposés à l'avant de l'appareil dans un emplacement spécial. Le ou les imprimés supérieurs sont détachés tandis que l'exemplaire inférieur est envoyé dans un magasin.

Skate Tips : Catamaran. Talk about a blast from the past, catamaraning can be a lot of fun, and it's real easy to do. All you need is a partner. What you do is you sit on your board sideways facing your partner, while your partner does the same. Position the boards so that you can both put your feet comfortably on the ends of each other's boards. Once in position, you start down a fairly mellow hill. You turn by having the person on the turning side lean back, like he's on the trapeze of a catamaran. The person on the nonturning [side] leans in to help out with the turn.

I’m posting today to ask your opinion about whether David should participate in catamaran skateboarding. What is it, you ask? Well, let me explain. There are two skateboarders set parallel to each other a couple of feet apart. Each one is equipped with a toochas pad for comfort and two handles for steering. The riders sit on the boards with their bodies facing each other, their legs resting on the other person’s deck, and both looking in the direction of travel. Turning is accomplished by one person leaning back and pulling on their handles, at the same time the other person leans forward and pushes on theirs. There are no brakes.
