The Management, Resources and Results Structure(MRRS) policy replaces the 1996 Planning, Reporting and Accountability Structure(PRAS) policy framework. It takes effect on April 1st, 2005. A Management, Resources and Results Structure provides a common, government-wide approach to the collection, management and public reporting of financial and non-financial information. It is meant to : Identify and define the strategic outcomes linked to a department's mandate and core functions; Provide a logical organization or architecture of the programs and activities being delivered in support of the department's strategic outcomes; Reflect the way a department is managed to achieve results with the resources allocated to it year after year; Illustrate the various decision-making mechanisms and accountabilities that exist within the department to manage programs and activities towards the achievement of results; Link each level and element of the Program Activity Architecture to planned and actual information on resources and results; and Provide a performance measurement strategy to enable departments to adjust program design and spending to better achieve results. In essence, the MRRS is intended to be a useful management tool that provides departments, central agencies and parliamentarians alike the framework needed to support results-based management practices across the federal government, demonstrate value for money, as well as provide key stakeholders with the information necessary to support decision-making. Furthermore, the MRRS, which replaces the Planning, Reporting and Accountability Structure(PRAS) Policy framework, will serve as the basis to report to Parliament through the Estimates and Public Accounts.

Essentiellement, la SGRR est censée constituer un outil de gestion utile qui fournit aux ministères, aux organismes centraux et aux parlementaires le cadre nécessaire pour appuyer des pratiques de gestion axées sur les résultats à l'échelle du gouvernement fédéral, faire la preuve de l'optimisation des ressources et transmettre aux principaux intervenants l'information nécessaire à la prise de décisions. The COF Element is a multi-purpose cylindrical pressurised laboratory with an Earth-like atmosphere, permanently attached to the ISS. It has a capacity for 10 international standard payload racks(5 of which are allocated for use by other International Partners) with the facilities to be used primarily for the materials science, fluid physics and compatible life science disciplines. The COF also has external attachment points providing resources for Space Science, Earth Observation and Technology disciplines. The COF... will be attached to the "front-end" of the ISS at Node 2. The primary structure is based on the Italian Space Agency's Mini Payload Logistics Module(MPLM) primary structure and is 6. 7 m long by 4. 46 m diameter.

The steady-state operations of the COF systems and the European Payloads located within the COF will be supported by a number of organisations, teams and ground segment facilities both in Europe and the US ... Each facility is interconnected with the ESA provided IGS (Interconnect Ground Subnet). The ESA facility MOMO MOrphological transition in transparent MOdel materials is designed to study directional solidification of optically transparent melts. It investigates the effect of gravity on the formation of growth morphologies.

The key element of the MOMO experiment assembly is a Bridgman furnace for low temperatures(< 100°C). The furnace generates a temperature gradient over a cylindrical glass ampoule containing the sample. The sample material for the first two flights was a succinonitrile(SCN) based compound, which has solidifying structures similar to those of a metal alloy. The furnace is accommodated on a linear drive, which can be moved over the sample ampoule for directional solidification. An endoscope from the liquid side of the sample provides optical observation of the solid-liquid interface. Recorded images are analysed after the experiment to determine parameters of the solidifying morphological structure.

Once a fabric is rendered impermeable as, for example, by impregnation and/or coating with vinyl, neoprene, elastomers, polyurethane, and so forth, an entirely new set of construction uses of fabrics arises. The fabric, being nonporous, can now be lifted by air to form an air-supported structure capable of wide variations of size and shape. it can also be water filled, taking the shape of the fabric under hydrostatic pressure to form various enclosures or barriers such as inflatable flood gates in tidal zones. Lastly, if the coating has structural stiffness, it, in itself, becomes a structural element. Its use is now unlimited for enclosures, roofs, partitions, and many other related uses.
