Gyro de transfert. La grande problématique du navigateur était de décoller avec un cap vrai le plus précis possible pour se garantir une navigation sans trop d'histoires. Il avait été imaginé un conservateur de cap installé dans une Renault 4L qui stationnait près du bureau de piste. Avant chaque départ en mission la 4L était utilisée pour caler la centrale gyroscopique du Mirage IV au moyen du gyro de transfert prévu à cet effet dans son coffre.
