The Payload Operations Control Center at the Marshall Space Flight Center is a NASA facility for monitoring, coordinating and controlling on-orbit operations of Spacelab payloads. It is also used for premission test and training activities. The Payload Operations Control Center allows users on the ground to support and interact with onboard mission activities and permits direct communication between the investigator on the ground and flight crew on orbit. It provides ground command capability to operate experiments, manage payload resources and operate payload support equipment. Its facilities and services for instrument monitoring and control are made available to all users who request them. Each user area has a standard set of support equipment and space for special instrument-dedicated ground support equipment. A communication link can be arranged to allow the investigator to perform some or all operations from his own institution.

In 1995, the Canadian Governments On-Line(CGOL) team launched an on-line service, Intergovernmental On-Line Information Centre, or InterGov, to be used as a work and research tool for governments and the general population. The InterGov site's primary role is to provide access to and information on official government services and information provide on-line by governments in Canada. Every effort is made not to duplicate information that is already provided by an official government source in Canada before any content is actually stored on the service. Where the information would better serve the user by being presented or consolidated differently here, the team attempts to present it across government jurisdictions.

L'équipe Gouvernements canadiens en direct (GCED) lançait en 1995 un nouveau service en direct qui serait un outil de travail pour les différents ministères mais également pour la population, le Centre d'information en direct intergouvernemental, ou InterGov. Le but de ce site est de fournir au public un point d'accès facile à toute l'information et à tous les services fournis par les gouvernements à travers le Canada en dirigeant les usagers vers leurs pages d'accueil officielles établies. L'équipe s'efforce de ne pas dédoubler l'information déjà disponible auprès d'une autre source officielle gouvernementale au Canada en effectuant des vérifications avant de charger l'information dans ce service. Lorsque l'usager bénéficierait davantage d'une consolidation ou d'une présentation différente de l'information, elle cherche généralement à présenter celle-ci selon les juridictions gouvernementales.
