De nombreux pays poursuivent depuis plusieurs années des efforts de normalisation afin de mieux gérer leur fonds terminologique croissant. Or, le résultat de ces efforts ne peut être connu précisément, à moins de recourir à la terminométrie, ou mesure de l'implantation terminologique. Discipline nouvelle, sa première méthode de mesure scientifique a été proposée récemment (Quirion, 2000). La communication fera état des travaux actuellement menés au Centre de recherche en technologies langagières, situé sur le campus de l'Université du Québec en Outaouais, pour automatiser le processus terminométrique. Recourant à des corpus spécialisés, un logiciel terminométrique Web, primé en 2005, permet d'évaluer en diachronie les états de langue. The GLIMR pilot project is a computerized meta-database that describes databases and information about the Great Lakes in a user-friendly manner. It is both a source and a marketing tool for information belonging to Environment Canada-Ontario Region, the National Water Research Institute, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and Atmospheric Environment Service.
