When you take a picture at the seashore or in the highlands or of a distant view, the photograph is on the whole rendered indistinct with a bluish veil added to the entire picture under the influence of ultraviolet rays, which are invisible to the naked eye. The skylight filter is often confused with the UV filter, because the two do much the same thing. Both are almost colorless(the skylight filter is a very pale pink, while the UV filter is a very pale yellow).
