Level-sensing fillers fill containers to a controlled level without sealing the container... Such a filling technique eliminates product recirculation and allows filling to a level in plastic containers which would bulge out or flex inward if pressure or vacuum were applied to the sealed container. A level-sensing filler uses some type of sensing means, typically a flow of very low pressure air. Dosage et remplissage par mesure de niveau. Ce procédé est utilisé pour le remplissage de récipients à goulots étroits, non fermés pendant le remplissage. Le produit est injecté sous pression par un tube de remplissage pénétrant dans le récipient jusqu'au niveau de remplissage désiré. L'air s'échappe entre le tube et l'intérieur du goulot. Pendant le remplissage, une légère pression d'air s'établit dans un petit tube placé à l'intérieur du tube de remplissage. Environmental Control Systems Trainer. Additional training in the operation of the environmental control system was provided by the environmental control systems trainer which was a heavy shell mock-up with a prototype spacecraft environmental system. The device used was delivered to NASA in November 1960 and installed in a man-rated vacuum chamber at the U. S. Naval Air Crew Equipment Laboratory in Philadelphia(fig. 10-1(1)). During December of 1960 and January of 1961, the astronauts participated in a program of system familiarization that included being exposed to a simulated reentry heat pulse and approximately 2 hours of the expected postlanding temperature. During these runs, the astronauts wore the pressure suits and became familiar with function of the suits when associated with the environmental control system. Pressure Formers. Beloit modified their design of suction former to produce the Hydraulic Former.... It had been found that the pressure differential was easier to control when the vacuum system was removed and hydraulic pressure increased within the forming lid. Subsequently, the hydraulic channel was simplified utilizing an adjustable throat as the flow control. A vacuum override motor is connected to the flap inside the snorkel of some thermostatically controlled damper flap units. When a cold engine is accelerating, the vacuum diaphragm overrides the thermostat control to open the damper flap.
