A dihedral wing is producing equal lift on the port and the starboard wing in straight and level flight. The Two Frame Gyroscope. When the rotor is spinning and the spin axis is in a horizontal plane a definite resistance will be felt owing to gyroscope inertia, at the same time the spin axis will begin to precess in a vertical plane and will continue to do so with sufficient power to lift light weights until all the gyroscopic inertia disappears due to the rotor slowing and stopping. The Three Frame Gyroscope. If the base of a three framed gyroscope is held in the hand with the rotor spinning and turned about any of the three axes, the rotor will continue to point in the original direction in space. This property is known as gyroscope inertia.

Another increasingly popular type of anemometer is the propeller anemometer. This anemometer is simply a very small two-or three-blade propeller, calibrated so that the revolutions per minute(rpm) corresponds to specific wind speeds. This anemometer is known as a "lift" device because it relies upon the rational lift caused by the wind on the propellers to measure the wind speed. By using two propellers held fixed at a perpendicular angle to each other, one can simultaneously measure the wind speed and direction using vector analysis. By including a third propeller positioned vertically relative to the other two, vertical wind movements also can be measured. It should be noted that the effect of variations in air density(due to temperature and/or pressure conditions) are accounted for differently in lift devices(for example, propeller anemometers) and drag devices(for example, cup anemometers).
