Canadian Arctic Class (CAC) was a class attributed to a vessel that met the requirements of TP [Transport Publication] 12260 Equivalent Standards for the Construction of Arctic Class Ships, under the Arctic Shipping Pollution Prevention Regulations, which were repealed in 2017 and replaced by the Arctic Shipping Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations. Unified Requirements from the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) for the construction of Polar Class ships have since been used instead.

One method for capturing [a] 360-degree video is to use an omnidirectional camera. Omnidirectional cameras can capture a wide field of view with just a few lenses. The resulting images exhibit a fisheye effect.

A user experiences a 360° video by rotating the camera about the center as well as in effect rotating the perspective or FOV [field-of-view] while viewing the video. According to an embodiment of the … invention, the camera, or view, is changed based on user input such as by using a mouse, keyboard, mobile device, controller, head-mounted display, or virtual reality headset. In this way, the end user adjusts the view manually or directly. Camera, or view orientation changes provide meaningful insight into how a user experiences a 360° video.

... the idea has grown that traditional fixed shellfish and finfish traps that have end lines and surface marker floats should be re-engineered to enable trap retrieval without line in the water column, except if needed during trap retrieval... there... needs to be an alternative system to fulfill the surface buoy's role of enabling the trap owner and other vessels to know where traps are located on the bottom. Without this virtual marker, layovers of different strings of traps will be inevitable—and potentially dangerous in deeper waters. This requires development of a robust, affordable trap marker that acquires a GPS position before deployment, and then ideally updates its position by ranging from passing vessels equipped to communicate with the virtually marked traps. Where traps are attached to each other in a string or trawl, traps at each end of the trawl would be marked. An acoustic trap marker would also enable recovery of displaced traps, reducing ghost gear.

Kielland's forceps [were] originally designed to deliver the fetal head at or above the pelvic brim, lying in the transverse axis of the pelvis and rotating it when it had reached the pelvic cavity. The forceps is used today for rotation and extraction of the head which is arrested in the deep transverse or occipito-posterior position. The blades have very little pelvic curve and are virtually an axis traction forceps. A large episiotomy is needed. The shallowness of the curve allows safe rotation in the vagina. Downward traction encourages rotation of the head. The claw lock allows the blades to slide on each other and correct or encourage synclitism of the fetal head as required. The range of movement allowed by the lock makes it possible to apply lethal compression to the fetal head if the instrument is used improperly

If the fetus’s head needs to be rotated, there is now a tendency to use manual rotation, rotation with a vacuum extractor, or caesarean section in preference to Kielland’s rotational forceps. This change in practice arose in the 1980s after high rates of neonatal morbidity and mortality were associated with Kielland’s forceps ... Kielland’s forceps are only used for select cases and by experienced obstetricians.

Ski slopestyle makes its Olympic debut in 2014. Slopestyle athletes make their way down, through and over a course comprised of a variety of obstacles including rails, jumps and other terrain park features — scoring points for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks. The discipline has its roots in action sports like skateboarding and BMX biking and has very successfully crossed over into the snow sports worlds of skiing and snowboard. Slopestyle is one of the most accessible snow sports, as virtually every ski resort has a terrain park where aspiring athletes can learn to jump, slide and jib.
