Le Bureau des services de soins infirmiers (BSSI) est une division de la Direction générale de la santé des Premières nations et des Inuits (DGSPNI). Le BSSI exerce un leadership et offre des services de soutien et de consultation en soins infirmiers aux services infirmiers du Ministère, ce qui englobe les besoins en santé des clients des réserves. Le Bureau des services de soins infirmiers a été établi en 2001 et travaille en collaboration avec les équipes régionales de soins infirmiers et les autres directions et programmes. The vision screening program is coordinated by the school divisions with support(training, equipment loans, and repairs and data collection) from the Student Services Branch. It is intended to identify, as early as possible, school age students who may have undetected vision difficulties. The program does not take the place of a professional eye examination conducted by an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
