Pentosan polysulfate sodium, approved... for treatment of interstitial cystitis, has been associated with a maculopathy at the level of the retinal pigment epithelium and retinal pigment epithelium photoreceptor interface and, at times, can extend to the peripheral retina. Clinically, PPSM manifests as gradually decreased visual acuity, metamorphopsia, nyctalopia, slowed dark adaptation, blurred vision, and paracentral scotoma.

Shortcomings in our understanding of natural language comprehension and generation have forced system developers to make more use of the visual medium(i. e., graphical displays, including animation). In this medium, human-machine communication is realized through the use of visual objects such as icons and menus. The information that the user can communicate to the machine, normally the various operations and commands that the system can realize, is structured as a specialized interface language, a visual language in the case of a graphical interface.

Immersive user interfaces are being increasingly utilized for a variety of purposes. Immersive user interfaces may present a virtual reality scene to a user who may be engaged in gaming or other activities. With the advent of 360° and 720° panoramic visual images, the user experience has improved as the user of an immersive user interface is able to view different portions of the virtual reality scene, much in the same manner that a person views the real world. Moreover, the utilization of spatial audio signals in conjunction with the visual images presented by an immersive user interface adds to the dimensionality in which the user experiences a virtual reality scene.

ESA has presently only developed a basic end effector (BEE) for the European robotic arm. Although the BEE can support EVA and has a good overall performance, its size and mass make its use impractical for most of the operations involved in servicing payloads external to the spacecraft. The dexterity needed for these operations requires a much smaller, compact gripper, equipped with an array of sensors which fully monitor both its status and operations. Furthermore, it is desirable to keep to a minimum the limitations and constraints imposed on the payload by the interface requirements. Functions performed by the gripper are: recovery of insertion misalignments; positioning of an object at a target location; securing an object firmly and releasably; provision of mechanical power; monitoring gripper status and operation.

Windows programs are based around a standard set of features known as the application program interface or API. All programs call on the API for most of their functions. But some of the API functions are not accessed directly from Visual Basic. Using the API is not difficult, but the API is picky. Everything must be just so, and much of what you have to add to your programs is quite detailed. The API viewer enables you to cut and paste the required declarations. It helps you avoid errors and is a great time saver.
