In 2015, IAPB Canada was renamed to Canadian Association for Plant Biotechnology(CAPB). IAPB Canada was part of the International Association for Plant Biotechnology(IAPB). IAPB was formed in 1970-1971 with the name of the International Association for Plant Tissue Culture(IAPTC) when plant in vitro regeneration was a major research area in plant sciences. In 1998, IAPTC congress was held in Israel and the association was renamed to include Biotechnology(IAPTC&B) according to the research area expansion. During the 11th IAPTC&B Congress which was held in Beijing, China in 2006, the association name was once again changed to its current name : The International Association for Plant Biotechnology(IAPB). To investigate the tooth development in the none-tooth bearing area, the tooth germs were transplanted into the toothless gap, diastema of the developing mandible. Also to study the effect of growth factors on the tooth development, BMP [bone morphogenetic protein] was added during culture period. After periods of in vitro and in vivo culture, the transplanted tooth germ in the toothless gap area showed bioengineered tooth with supportive structure formation.
