The Mission of the Pet Therapy Society is to provide to the community safe and effective animal assisted activities and programs. The Pet Therapy Society of Northern Alberta was created to provide the benefits of the human-animal bond that is well documented in medical, psychological and social literature. While the focus is on the human-animal relationship, other aspects including environmental issues, personal health and safety, and cooperative learning may also be associated. Members volunteer their personal time along with their pet companions to provide animal assisted therapy and animal assisted activity programs to make a difference in the lives of others.

To collect fees from community associations to pay expenses and forward player registrations and insurance fees to the A. S. A. [Alberta Soccer Association. ] To distribute information about soccer to the community associations. To provide means for resolving protests and grievances. To balance the needs of the individual soccer player with the needs of the district and soccer as a whole. To uphold the code of conduct... so fair play and good sportsmanship can prevail.

[The members] dedicate and volunteer [their] off-duty firefighting hours towards raising funds and awareness for the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Centre at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta. This fundraising ensures that money is available for upgrades, as necessary, to the highly specialized equipment. It also provides the burn unit health care team with opportunities to attend continuing education programs to remain current in new treatment techniques. The money [donated] is accumulated through various fundraisers, public and private donations.

The Alberta Powerlifting Union(APU) is a provincial affiliate to the Canadian Powerlifting Union(CPU). It is a completely non-profit and volunteer organization regulating both 3-lift Powerlifting and Bench Press Only within the province of Alberta. The APU is dedicated to it's mission of : promoting and developing drug tested powerlifting on a provincial scale, providing a safe and fair environment for which to compete in powerlifting, maintaining and enforcing the rules of the sport by appointing and training qualified referees, hosting and regulating... provincial championships as vessels for athletes to progress to a national level of competition.
