A hunt using an artificial scent or drag.

Drag hunting is a sport in which a group of dogs(usually foxhounds or beagles) chase a scent that has been laid(dragged) over a terrain before the hunt. The scent, usually a combination of aniseed oils and possibly animal meats, is dragged along the terrain by a volunteer for any distance up to several miles to a designated finish line before the hounds are released at the start line by their owners. The hound first crossing the finish line wins the race.

The BC Exotic Bird Society came into being in 1951 and was known as The British Columbia Budgerigar and Foreign Bird Society of Western Canada. In 1966 the name of the society was changed to The BC Cage Bird Society and later in 1993 it became The BC Exotic Bird Society holding it's meetings in Langley, BC, and having members throughout Canada. The BC Exotic Bird Society is a registered non-profit organization, supported by a volunteer group of bird loving members. The Society provides an opportunity for people who are interested in exotic birds to get together and exchange information and knowledge on the proper care, feeding habits, and breeding requirements of our feathered friends.

The UASBC is a 175 member group of volunteer, avocational underwater archaeologists. We are mostly from British Columbia but also have members who live all over North America. The Society is the largest diving club in British Columbia, and one of the largest and most active heritage organisations in the province. The UASBC assists archaeologists by undertaking worthwhile projects not currently addressed by professionals. Inventories of shipwrecks and other submerged cultural sites are an especially important contribution. Information about the location, history, and status of these resources is vital to their conservation and management.

Funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage, Katimavik is a national youth volunteer service. It allows groups of Canadians aged 17 to 21 who can speak both English and French to experience their country, serve the community, learn to work together as a group, and develop leadership and communication skills. Katimavik participants spend 36 weeks living in groups of 11 and working on community projects in three different locations-two predominantly Anglophone and one predominantly Francophone. They take part in a wide variety of skills-development activities such as environmental projects, volunteer work, community living, learning about computers and second-language learning.

Financé par le ministère du Patrimoine canadien, Katimavik est un service national de jeunes bénévoles. Il permet à des groupes de jeunes Canadiens âgés entre 17 et 21 ans, qui peuvent s'exprimer dans les deux langues officielles, de mieux connaître leur pays, de servir la collectivité et d'apprendre à travailler en groupe, à diriger et à communiquer.
