The ratio of the difference between the nature soil water content and plastic limit to the soil plastic index (PI) of the same soil.

CONT

The liquidity index(LI) is used for scaling the natural water content of a soil sample to the limits. It can be calculated as a ratio of difference between natural water content, plastic limit, and plasticity index : LI=(W-PL)/(LL-PL) where W is the natural water content.

[The] Thornthwaite moisture index [is] a method for monitoring the soil water budget for relatively large areas based on the pioneering work of C. W. Thornthwaite(1948) using the concept of potential evapotranspiration. The Palmer Drought Severity Index and the companion "crop moisture index, "developed by W. C. Palmer, are modifications of the earlier Thornthwaite work.

An overall measure of precipitation effectiveness for plant growth which takes into consideration the weighted influence of water surplus and water deficiency as related to water need and as they vary according to season.

For a given station, it is calculated by the formula: [Moisture index = humidity index less 6/10 of the aridity index].

The moisture index [was also] used by C. W. Thornthwaite in his 1948 climatic classification. It replaced Thornthwaite's previously used(1931) precipitation-effectiveness index.

Las características viscoelásticas de las masas medidas a través del alveógrafo de Chopin, lo muestran al trigo de la presente campaña con buenos valores de fuerza panadera (W) con 323 para la II Norte y 296 para la V Norte.

El valor W expresa este trabajo de deformación referido a un gramo de masa y está ligado al conjunto de fenómenos que se producen en el curso del ensayo de extensión teniendo en cuenta a la vez la tenacidad y la extensibilidad de la masa y es la expresión más completa de la fuerza panadera de una harina.
