EVA Gloves(left and right). If you look at the bottom of an EVA glove, you’ll see that it has a ring. This ring is used to snap onto the sleeve of the upper torso. It also contains a wrist bearing that is used to help the astronaut rotate his hand. On the opposite end of the glove are rubber finger caps. The scientists chose silicone rubber so that the astronauts could have some sense of touch when working with equipment and tools. Along the gloves are loops. Tethers connected to small tools can be latched onto the loops to prevent the items from floating off into space. Gants pour EVA (gauche et droit). Si on regarde au bout d'un gant EVA, on voit un anneau. Cet anneau sert à fixer le gant à la manche du torse supérieur. Il comprend aussi un roulement pour le poignet, qui aide l'astronaute à faire la rotation des mains. À l'autre bout du gant, on observe un recouvrement de caoutchouc au bout des doigts. Les scientifiques ont choisi le silicone pour donner à l'astronaute un sens du toucher lorsqu'il travaille son équipement et ses outils. De petits anneaux sont [répartis] sur les gants afin d'y attacher de petits outils à l'aide de cordons. Ceci évite que les outils ne flottent librement dans l'espace.
