The first CANPASS project underway was CANPASS-Highway. The CANPASS-Highway program will eventually be a national version of the PACE(Peace Arch Crossing Entry) project in B. C. which combines pre-approval processing, express lanes, a self-declaration card, and an automated billing system to speed up border crossings. Currently PACE users, for a $25 annual fee, receive a special windshield decal authenticity. Users deposit declaration cards in a box at the inspection booth before proceeding. Duties are charged to a credit card. Three Materials Science Research Racks will be a major portion of the U. S. Laboratory facilities. The European Space Agency will provide the core for the Experiment Module that will occupy the right half of the rack and will house five insert modules.
