The International Working Group on Women and Sport(IWG) was established in 1994 at the 1st World Conference on Women and Sport held in Brighton, England. The Group is an independent coordinating body consisting of representatives of key non-governmental organizations from different regions of the world. To honour her memory, the Canadian Olympic Committee(COC) and the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity(CAAWS) have partnered to recognize and pay tribute to Carol Anne's legacy by establishing the ‘Carol Anne Letheren International Sport Leadership Award’. The Harassment and Abuse in Sport Collective represents 40 National Sport Organizations and governments, including the Canadian Hockey Association(CHA), the Coaching Association of Canada(CAC), the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport(CCES), and the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity(CAAWS). Produced for the National Film Board of Canada by Parker Film Associates for Fitness and Amateur Sports of Canada. Your Move is about participation in all kinds of sports by women of all ages. Myths, taboos, conventions of dress, and "proper" behavior have for centuries prevented women from enjoying recreational sport. Accepting society's assumption that physical activity was "unfeminine", women remained the eternal spectators. Women and attitudes are changing, but old myths die hard. When this film was made in 1973, forty-seven percent of Canadian women still ranked in the "low-to-fair" fitness category.
