ACOL(Atlantic Canada On-Line) is an exciting on-line information service that has the potential to provide electronic access to a wide variety of government information that is maintained by the four provincial governments of Atlantic Canada. It utilizes the latest electronic commerce technology adhering to stringent standards for security and confidentiality. It offers a convenient, single-point of access to public information from your remote personal computer or the client-activated workstations located in participating government departments. Unlike many other services, ACOL has the ability to submit information for registration purposes in addition to the simple retrieval of data. Doing business with government is easier and more efficient than ever before. This service is managed by Unisis Canada Inc. within a public/private partnership with the governments of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. ACOL (Atlantic Canada On-Line) est un service en ligne qui permet l'accès électronique à une foule de renseignements administratifs tenus par les quatre gouvernements provinciaux du Canada Atlantique. Il met à profit la dernière technologie de commerce électronique conforme à des normes rigoureuses de sécurité et de confidentialité. Il offre un accès unique et pratique à des renseignements publics à partir de votre ordinateur personnel à distance ou de postes de travail clients situés dans les ministères gouvernementaux participants. À la différence de bien d'autres services, ACOL en plus de la simple extraction de données. Il est donc plus facile et plus efficace que jamais auparavant de faire affaire avec le gouvernement. Ce service est géré par Unisys Canada Inc. dans le cadre d'un partenariat public/privé avec les gouvernements du Nouveau-Brunswick, de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador, de la Nouvelle-Écosse et de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard. ACOL was created to advise Minister Glenn Hagel, Chair of the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada(CMEC) Post-Secondary Expectations Project and Saskatchewan's Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Skills Training, and the former Minister of Industry, John Manley, on a co-ordinated approach for governments, universities, colleges, and the private sector to integrate online post-secondary learning into Canadian universities and colleges. In 2010, AIDS Committee of London(ACOL) commemorated its 25 year anniversary doing HIV/AIDS work in London. To reflect the agency's expanded service delivery mandate into the six counties of Perth, Huron, Oxford, Elgin, Lambton and Middlesex in Southwestern Ontario, ACOL went through a re-naming and re-branding process.
