The preparation of grids is recommended for outdoor disasters(aircraft crashes, railroad accidents and similar), in order to ensure more complete and effective processing of the resulting sectors. The arrangement of sectors in a chessboard pattern will facilitate the subsequent search for evidence and recovery of bodies substantially.... The grid consists of a base line which proceeds from or runs between identifiable fixed points on the ground as well as parallel lines drawn at intervals for instance of 10 m(but depending of the situation), thus forming square sections in which methodical searches can be conducted. To the extent possible, the grid should cover the entire disaster area.

Some Black Hawk models don’t need to land to refuel. They have an in-flight refueling probe. The probe allows the Black Hawks to refuel from a KC-130 tanker aircraft.

CF-18s often carry heavy munitions, which reduces the amount of fuel storage space. Inflight refuelling from tanker aircraft allows the Hornet to stay in the air longer before returning to base. The Hornet's extendable probe plugs into a hose at the rear of the tanker. Refuelling takes only a few minutes, but requires close-formation flying and a high degree of concentration from the pilot.

Le CF-18 transporte souvent de lourdes munitions, ce qui réduit l'espace de stockage du carburant. Le ravitaillement en vol, assuré par des avions de ravitaillement, permet au Hornet de voler plus longtemps avant de devoir revenir à la base. La perche télescopique du Hornet se raccorde à un boyau à l'arrière de l'avion de ravitaillement. Le ravitaillement se fait en seulement quelques minutes, mais le pilote doit voler en formation serrée, ce qui exige une très grande concentration de sa part.

The Dryden Flight Research Center(DFRC), located inside Edwards Air Force Base, is an aeronautical research center operated by NASA. On March 26, 1976 it was named in honor of the late Hugh L. Dryden, a prominent aeronautical engineer who at the time of his death in 1965 was NASA's deputy administrator. First known as the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics Muroc Flight Test Unit, the DFRC has also been known as the High-Speed Flight Research Station(1949) and the High-Speed Station(1954). Dryden is NASA's premier site for aeronautical research and operates some of the most advanced aircraft in the world.

The ideal reusable launcher would be analogous to a normal aircraft in that it would be able to take off from many possible bases on Earth, enter the desired orbital plane, accelerate to orbital velocity, release its payload, de-orbit, dissipate its kinetic energy and land at the take-off base to be readied for its next flight after a quick turn-around. The vehicle would maintain physical integrity during a mission, would be flown ’very often’, and its cost per flight would be compatible with the value of the missions undertaken.
