This equation used a psychrometric constant of 0. 5. This constant takes into account the type of psychrometer that is used to measure the temperatures. A constant of 0. 5 is valid for the Assmann aspiration psychrometer which uses a motor driven fan to induce evaporation. This method is subject to increasing errors with higher temperatures. It is most useful in applications which are close to ambient conditions. Psychrometric charts are also available which give moisture levels based on the wet and dry bulb temperatures. En fait cette grandeur, appelée improprement constante, dépend notamment de la pression atmosphérique (et donc de l'altitude) et de la vitesse du vent.
