Operating since 1977 in the rural and historically rich area of Wells/Barkerville/Bowron Lakes in the central interior of British Columbia, Island Mountain Arts has attracted world-class and emerging artists to Wells... to educate, perform, study and exhibit in a wide range of artistic mediums. The Ottawa School of Speech and Drama(OSSD) is a not-for profit charitable organization that provides training and education in Drama, Theatre, Speech Arts and Musical Theatre for students ages 6 through adult in the Ottawa-Carlton area. The School aims to achieve a high standard of instruction by working with theatre professionals and drama educators with proven artistic sensibility. John Kim Bell. Conductor, administrator, pianist, composer. He established in Toronto in 1985 the Canadian Native Arts Foundation(CNAF), to increase awareness of the artistic opportunities for, and to develop the potential talent of, the Native people through education. The foundation held a benefit concert at Roy Thomson Hall, 8 Feb. 1987, that featured the US performer Bernadette Peters, Native singer Eilleen Twain, and Native guitarist Donn Ross. The Eastern Ontario Drama League(EODL, or the League) fosters development and interest in the performing arts. It serves as a resource centre for theatre activities in Eastern Ontario, and provides community theatre groups with a communications medium throughout the province. The League promotes artistic and technical standards, and encourages education in theatre arts.
