Chunking. Training is delivered as 5-20 minute ’chunks’ of material. This is short enough to maintain the student’s attention without multimedia ’sparkle’. The chunks are pulled from a structured curriculum. Each chunk has pre-requisite chunks and recommendations on further choices from the curriculum. Chunk at your own risk. Chunking training into 5-or 10-minute nuggets of online content has its disadvantages. Well-conceived bite-sized modules let employees access only the training they need immediately. Moreover, chunks are reusable as modules in other courses.
