Mechanical pencils with leads that are at least 2 mm wide are called lead holders. Like wooden pencils, their leads can be sharpened to control their line width.... Another key difference between lead holders and typical mechanical pencils is their lead advancement system. Many lead holders use a drop clutch lead advancement mechanism rather than the incremental advancement mechanism most mechanical pencils use.

In English, lead holders are mechanical pencils with replaceable leads of at least two millimetres in diameter. In French, the designation "portemine" and its synonyms refer to any mechanical pencil, regardless of the size of leads used.

There are several types of partial malfunctions and actions for each. If you have a semi-inversion, squid, cigarette roll or complete inversion with damage to the canopy or suspension lines, you must activate your reserve parachute. If you have a compare inversion with no damage to the canopy or suspension lines, do not activate your reserve parachute. If you have damaged suspension lines, blown section or gore, you must compare your rate of descent with your fellow jumpers. If you are falling faster than your fellow jumpers, you will activate your reserve parachute. If you are not falling faster than your fellow jumpers, you will activate your reserve parachute. If you are not falling faster, maintain what you have.

Partial malfunctions occur when the parachute deploys, but does not work properly. This creates a situation that does not allow you to land safely. Canopies that partially malfunction do not look "good" and tend to move violently. The following conditions may cause a partial malfunction :line over(a line goes over the canopy instead of straight down to the harness), entangled or broken lines, and holes, burns and/or rips in the canopy. The exact procedure to follow varies by drop zone, but genrally you will cut away the main canopy and open the reserve parachute.

A major regional community(biome) of vegetation in high mountainous regions and on high-level plateaus. The plants generally grow in thin stony soil and are subjected to high light intensity and high wind speeds. The climate differs from that of the tundra as there is daylight in winter and darkness in summer, more precipitation and wind, and a higher degree of solar radiation, but no permafrost. The number of plant species, although limited, is greater than that found in the tundra. Certain drought-tolerant species(e. g. grasses, sedges, mosses, and lichens) are common to both communities. As the fuel enters the air release chamber(the diameter of which is much greater than the diameter of the inlet to the air release body), the velocity of the flow is greatly reduced allowing an interval of time for the air to separate from the fuel. The air, being lighter than the liquid, rises to the top of the chamber, where it remains until a sufficient quantity has accumulated to lower the liquid level, causing the float to drop, which in turn opens the vent valve and allows the accumulated air to escape. In most cases the line from the air vent is returned to the storage or scavenger tank to prevent spraying fuel into the surrounding area in case of a malfunction of the air release chamber.

L'air, plus léger que le liquide, remonte à la surface, et y demeure jusqu'à ce qu'une quantité suffisante se soit accumulée; le flotteur, qui s'est abaissé en raison de la baisse proportionnelle du niveau du liquide, commande alors l'ouverture du purgeur qui permet à l'air de s'échapper. Dans la plupart des cas, une canalisation relie le purgeur au réservoir de stockage ou de reprise d'évacuation afin d'éviter toute dispersion de produit à l'extérieur en cas de mauvais fonctionnement de la chambre ou du purgeur.

Impression par jet d'encre : technologie goutte à la demande. L'encre est retenue dans la buse grâce à une basse pression créée dans le circuit d'encre. Quand un point doit être imprimé, une onde de choc est créée par un transducteur piézo-électrique qui propulse la goutte d'encre vers le papier. Seules les gouttes utiles sont donc éjectées, ce qui élimine le besoin de récupération des gouttes inutiles.

N'ayant trouvé aucun équivalent pour traduire "drop-on-demand printer", "pulsed jet printer", je suggère la création du terme "imprimante à jet d'encre goutte à la demande" qui couvre bien la notion. Il a cependant le défaut d'être un peu long.
