Age-related macular degeneration is the most common cause of severe loss of eyesight among people 50 and older. Only the center of vision is affected with this disease. It is important to realize that people rarely go blind from it. AMD affects the central vision, and with it, the ability to see fine details. In AMD, a part of the retina called the macula is damaged. In advanced stages, people lose their ability to drive, to see faces, and to read smaller print. In its early stages, AMD may have no signs or symptoms, so people may not suspect they have it.

Why should a modern scientist bother with such unsystematic data when trying to make an assessment of buzzard diet?... while such chance observations can’t be used on their own to understand common buzzard behaviour, they do supplement the more rigorous data collection and help to complete the picture of diet diversity.

A shot is the combination of a stroke and the situation in which it is used.

"Long" is an informal expression used to indicate that a shot went out past the baseline. Important nuance: a "stroke" implies early preparation and a complete follow through. A Go-NoGo gauge(or Go/no go) refers to an inspection tool used to check a workpiece against its allowed tolerances. Its name derives from its use : the gauge itself has two tests; the check involves the workpiece's having to pass one test(Go) and ’fail' the other(No Go).... A Go NoGo gauge is a measuring tool that does not return a size in the conventional sense, but instead returns a state. The state is either acceptable(the part is within tolerance and may be used) or it is unacceptable(and must be rejected).

À l'extrémité GO, la culasse doit pouvoir être fermée et à l'extrémité NO-GO, la culasse ne doit pas pouvoir être fermée. Il faut vérifier les deux extrémités de la jauge. Si une extrémité ou l'autre, ou les deux ne fonctionnent pas tel que prévu, cela signifie que l'armé n'a pas un calibre acceptable, qu'elle est dangereuse et qu'elle ne doit pas être utilisée.
