The old Custom House(now part of Pointe-à-Callière, the Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History) was built in 1836, to keep pace with the expanding Port. Goods could pass through customs here in Montréal rather than having to stop off in Québec City. This was the first building designed in Montréal by John Ostell, an architect from Britain who would go on to put his name to at least 25 major buildings in the city, including the Old Courthouse.

A shot is the combination of a stroke and the situation in which it is used.

"Long" is an informal expression used to indicate that a shot went out past the baseline. Important nuance: a "stroke" implies early preparation and a complete follow through. Rêves de glace est un programme d'envergure nationale qui vise à soutenir et encourager la création et l'utilisation des patinoires extérieures, aussi bien nouvelles qu'existantes, d'un bout à l'autre du pays. Rêves de glace vise essentiellement à permettre aux filles et aux garçons de tout âge de demeurer au grand air durant les mois d'hiver en jouant au hockey et à d'autres jeux pratiqués sur la glace d'étangs et autres cours d'eau gelés, de patinoires résidentielles, de quartier ou municipales. L'idée rejoint l'objectif «Enlever le toit de l'hiver» pour goûter pleinement aux joies de l'hiver en créant des occasions de s'amuser à l'extérieur, librement et sainement, de pratiquer des sports d'équipe communautaires ou simplement pour garder la forme. Rêves de glace s'inscrit dans le cadre du projet Hiver l'action initié par l'organisme Vert l'action.

Convective activities can also feed back into the large scale and enhancing synoptic scale cyclones. Most of the energy transfer in the atmosphere is downscale-starting from differential heating with latitude and land-sea contrast on the planetary scales.(Energy in the atmosphere can also transfer upscale). We call the energy transfer among scales energy cascade.
