On July 1, 1998, The Corporation of the Township of Golden and The Corporation of the Township of Red Lake are amalgamated as a new Town to be named The Corporation of the Municipality of Red Lake.(From Order Made Under The Municipal Act, R. S. O. 1990, c. M. 45, signed by [Ontario] Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing(Al Leach), March 25, 1998).
