Spectromètre GOMOS (Global Ozone Monitoring by Occultation of Stars). Cet ensemble de deux caméras spectrométriques en ultraviolet et proche infrarouge réalise des profils de la haute atmosphère en observant l'occultation par celle-ci des étoiles qui «se couchent» lorsque le satellite progresse sur son orbite. GOMOS is an atmospheric sensor to be flown on the European satellite ENVISAT(Environmental Satellite) in 2002 as a joint project of Finland and France. The main scientific objective is to monitor ozone and ozone trends in the stratosphere and mesosphere.
