The DRC is a private, non-profit organization of produce and transportation companies from the three NAFTA countries established in 1999 pursuant to Article 707 of the North American Free Trade Agreement(NAFTA) which provides for the creation of private commercial dispute resolution organizations for agricultural goods.

The official Web site of the Corporation uses both acronyms but since DRC can be confused with the Dispute Resolution Centres depending on the context, I highly recommend to use FVDRC when referring to that Corporation.

La DRC a été établie en 1999 conformément aux dispositions de l'article 707 de l'Accord de libre-échange nord-américain (ALÉNA) prévoyant la création d'organismes voués au règlement des différends commerciaux privés touchant les produits agricoles. Elle résulte de l'effort collectif du secteur nord-américain des fruits et légumes et des gouvernements du Canada, du Mexique et des États-Unis, qui se sont mis à l'oeuvre pour créer un tel organisme voué expressément au secteur particulier des fruits et légumes.

La syntaxe de l'appellation française est fautive mais c'est le nom officiel qui a été donné à cet organisme nord-américain. Il aurait été préférable de parler de la Corporation de règlement des différends pour le secteur ou le marché des fruits et légumes.

Il n'y a pas d'abréviation française. Ce sont les abréviations anglaises qui sont utilisées et DRC est beaucoup plus utilisé que FVDRC en français.
