Under the Government of Canada's Oceans Protection Plan and the World Class Tanker Safety System program, COOGER is addressing concerns about potential risks by providing science-based information and advice on how petroleum spills behave under a range of environmental and oceanographic conditions, and how effective certain methods are for treating spills. Through its research, COOGER provides assistance in improving Canada's spill response measures.
