During fall wet periods, most young petioles or leaves are covered with a fungal growth that often moves into the crown. Crown infections may permit other root-decay organisms to invade the plant. Le mildiou de la betterave est une maladie des régions tempérées humides. Il se développe préférentiellement en conditions humides et relativement froides. Le champignon s'étend de façon systémique dans la plante et produit de nombreuses spores qui sont disséminées par la pluie. [Il] provoque un épaississement des feuilles du cœur. Le terme utilisé en français est «mildiou de la betterave» même s'il est plus générique car le pathogène de cette maladie ne cause pas seulement le mildiou sur la betterave à sucre mais aussi sur les autres types de betteraves. Comme il s'agit de la même maladie (symptômes identiques), le français ne fait pas de distinction selon le type de betterave affectée.

The blue screen method was developed in the 1930s at RKO Radio Pictures. ... Before digital chroma keying, bluescreening was accomplished using film. deconvolution microscope : using the deconvolution microscope, researchers can see the locations of target molecules inside the cell. Seeing where glowing molecules reside within a cell is helpful for a range of research projects--from studies of how the distribution of various proteins changes during an organism's development to investigations of how administration of a drug alters the locations of certain proteins. The microscope, called DeltaVision, is manufactured by Applied Precision, based in Issaquah, Wash. It works by magnifying images and quantifying the intensity of light shed by the sample. The user specifies which colors of light are of interest. For instance, a user can program the microscope to report the intensity of a particular shade of green shining from the cytoplasm of a cell. After a researcher uses the microscope to make a series of optical slices through a specimen, the scope's computer "deconvolves" the images--in other words, it subtracts the out-of-focus light. Then the computer stacks together the images of the slices to reconstruct the original microscope sample. This gives researchers gh-resolution images of the sample's three-dimensional structure.

Originaire du Mexique et du nord de l'Amérique Centrale, cette plante est maintenant largement naturalisée sous les tropiques. C'est un arbuste de 0,8 à 5 mètres, aux jeunes rameaux finement poilus. An idle-stop system, also commonly known as a start-stop system, is essentially what makes up today's increasingly popular so-called mild hybrids.... The battery in a mild hybrid is still very important, but its main purpose is as a part of the idle-stop system that shuts off the gasoline engine when a mild hybrid is at rest, coasting or slowing down. Predominantly green colouration of short duration, often in the form of a flash, seen at the extreme upper edge of a luminary (Sun, Moon, or even a planet) when disappearing below or appearing above the horizon.

When the sun sets, sometimes the last bit of light from the disk itself is an emerald green. The same is true of the first bit of light from the rising sun. This phenomenon is known as the "green flash" or "green ray". It is not an optical illusion. The green flash is common and will be visible any time the sun is rises or sets on a "clear", "unobstructed", and "low" horizon.... The explanation for the green flash is thus, 1) refraction separates the solar images by color; 2) at just the right instant, the red image has set, 3) the yellow image is absorbed; and 4) the blue image is scattered away. We are left with the upper limb of the green image. Because the green flash is primarily a refraction effect, it lasts longer and is easier to see from a mountain top than from sea level.

Qu'est-ce que le rayon vert [...] juste avant le coucher du soleil, [...] ce fugace rayon vert émeraude [...] apparaît, et disparaît presque aussi soudainement, lorsque le bord supérieur du disque solaire effleure l'horizon juste avant de se coucher. Cette petite tache lumineuse dure à peine quelques secondes. Plus précisément, 1,8 sec à l'équateur, 2,5 sec à une latitude de 45 degrés. Ce phénomène de réfraction, qui ne se produit que lorsque l'atmosphère est extrêmement pure et qu'il y a très peu de particules pouvant créer de la diffraction ou dispersion, apparaît très rarement au lever ou au coucher du soleil. Comment cela se passe-t-il? La réfraction du Soleil par l'atmosphère crée un spectre vertical. Au fur et à mesure que le soleil descend sous l'horizon, les couleurs spectrales disparaissent une à une à commencer par le rouge, l'orangé, puis le jaune. Quand ces 3 couleurs sont disparues, quelques fois, à peine le temps d'un éclair, la seule couleur qui reste visible est le vert.
